PlaceholderThe Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation (SBTF) was incorporated in 1995. Our founders, the Warshaw family, began searching for brain tumor resources in the Atlanta, Georgia area after their son was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Their determination to identify and connect families with meaningful support not only led to the creation of the Foundation but also established our mission to support the brain tumor community. In May 1995, the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation received its IRS nonprofit determination letter and was officially recognized as a public charity.
The SBTF’s mission extends beyond funding scientific research and investigator-initiated clinical trials. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting patients, caregivers, survivors, and families throughout every stage of the brain tumor journey.
The SBTF provides patient programs designed to connect patients and caregivers with educational resources, emotional support, and community. Through supportive care initiatives, the Foundation also helps provide transportation assistance, rides to treatment, grocery and meal delivery support, and other quality-of-life resources for families navigating the challenges of treatment and caregiving.
In addition, the Foundation proudly supports educational advancement through its scholarship program. Our Voices of Hope Academic Scholarship Program provides an individual who has been directly impacted by a brain tumor diagnosis or the diagnosis of an immediate family member with the opportunity to pursue a post-secondary education at an accredited College, University, or Technical school located in one of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia.
Through annual fundraising events, community partnerships, and the generosity of donors and sponsors, the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation continues its commitment to advancing research while also strengthening support services and programs that directly impact the brain tumor community.
