Wines on the Wabash Postponed
Updated as of August 23, 2021
Wabash Center friends and supporters,
After much deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2021 Wines on the Wabash. While we relish the opportunity to gather with you in celebration of our mission, it has become increasingly clear that conditions in the community have changed in the last several weeks related to COVID-19. We continue to see indications that hosting a large-scale indoor event centered around socializing together is not feasible right now. This is especially true in light of the messaging we continue to send to our employees and their families regularly, specifically, our ask of them to wear masks while performing their job duties and to avoid large-scale indoor gatherings in an effort mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Know that while we treasure our time with you at Wines, we will always put your safety and the safety of our many volunteers first.
While we are disappointed that this event is on hold, unfortunately, our financial need is not. We rely on fundraising events like Wines on the Wabash to allow us to continue to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities right here in our community. To those of you who purchased tickets to this event we will be reaching out to you in the coming days to discuss your options, up to and including refunds. To our sponsors, thank you for your generous support of our mission. You’ll be hearing from us about ways in which we intend to promote your generosity. At present, we do not have a future date for Wines on the Wabash determined, but as soon as we do, we’ll make sure that you are updated.
Thank you again for your kindness, generosity, and support. We can’t do what we do without you.
Sincerely,
Jason McManus | President and CEO
