Our Event

We are honored to have you here at the 15th Annual PINC Party to celebrate the mission of Poverello House's Family Hope Shelter!

About Poverello House

Poverello House is deeply committed to the dignity of every person we serve. Our mission is to enrich the lives and spirits of all who come through our doors, stewarding the resources entrusted to us by the Providence of God and the generous support of our community.

In January 2023, Poverello House took an important step in addressing homelessness by purchasing a ten-unit apartment complex in downtown Fresno for $1.1 million. This was made possible through a combination of private funding sources, including a grant from the Bezos Day 1 Families Fund. The complex offers a transformative, non-congregate living environment that focuses on the healing and stability of families in need. Each family in our care is provided a private, fully-equipped unit complete with a bathroom, kitchenette, bedroom, and living space. This setup allows families to regain independence and rebuild their lives in a safe, supportive setting.

The Family Hope Shelter is designed to serve unhoused families, offering emergency shelter and a range of supportive services. Our families range from single parents with young children to multigenerational households, with parents as young as 18 and as old as 63, and children from newborns to 17-year-olds.

Upon entry, families undergo a comprehensive needs assessment, which enables us to connect them with critical resources. Our Family Navigation Team works tirelessly to ensure families receive the services they need, including access to healthcare, counseling, legal advice, housing opportunities, and transportation assistance. A licensed family and marriage therapist is available to provide mental health services for families who wish to participate.

Since opening in April 2023, the Family Hope Shelter has supported 33 households, including 59 children and 49 adults. Through our comprehensive services, 49 children and 35 adults have successfully exited homelessness while staying together as a family unit—one of our key goals in providing long-term stability.

PINC Fresno is proud to partner with Poverello House for the 2024-2025 year and support their efforts with the Family Hope Shelter. Your sponsorship will directly fund the continued success and growth of this critical program, enabling us to serve even more families and help them break the cycle of homelessness. With your generosity, we light the path from adversity to opportunity for children and families facing housing insecurity.

About PINC Fresno

Full of passion for Fresno and eager to forge a new generation of philanthropists, Annie Domingos founded PINC in 2008 to empower women to give back through volunteerism and philanthropy. Inspired by the needs of our community, PINC invites area nonprofit organizations that serve women and children to apply to become the beneficiary of a large annual fundraising event known as the PINC Party. The chosen organization is embraced as a true partner and in return, gains connections, visibility, expertise, and proceeds from the big event. PINC members also volunteer year-round for family-oriented organizations. To date, PINC has drawn upon their passion, purpose, and promise to raise over $1 million to enrich greater Fresno.
